Neville Thurlbeck is former news editor and chief reporter of the News of the World. He has broken stories including the revelation that Jeffrey Archer committed perjury during his libel case against the Daily Star. More controversially, Mr Thurlbeck also 'outed' the Cabinet Minister Nick Brown as gay. Last year he pleaded guilty to phone hacking. On Friday at 1pm Mr Thurlbeck will talk about his career and answer questions in the undergraduate newsroom. This is an opportunity to learn about how tabloid journalism worked at a uniquely controversial time. It is a chance to discuss hacking and its consequences with a journalist who knows about tabloid tricks from the inside. Please come, hear him speak. Above all, please ask questions.
