Production Journalist - ITV News Meridian
At ITV News Meridian Production Journalists are at the heart of our award-winning news operation, working across all of our output throughout the day – on-air and online.
We have a vacancy at our newsroom in Maidstone in Kent for a keen, self-starting, ideas-rich, journalist, with a passion for local news, who is ready to take the next step in their career.
The successful applicant will be hard-working, bring in lots of stories and excel at social media and online content. In our newsroom you will write scripts, edit news pictures, assist our web curator as well as working on content for our flagship 6pm programme.
The University of Kent's BA in Journalism is officially the country's most appreciated undergraduate programme - according to the results of this year's National Student Survey.
The 2020 NSS saw our journalism degree score a massive 97.67% in oversall satisfaction - the most significant measure of a course's success according to its students. This is the best score of the 49 universities in the UK that have journalism programmes at undergraduate level.
So many touching tributes came in on social media following the very sad news about our former colleague Ron Green that became hard to keep up with them.
I've made a collection here of the ones that I saw on Twitter - but it's possible I missed others. Let me know if that's the case.
It's with great sadness that we have to pass on the very sad news of the death of Ron Green, one of the Centre for Journalism's most influential and admired figures.
Ron played a central part in establishing the culture of the CfJ, joining as a newswriting teacher soon after it was founded and inspiring many cohorts of undergraduate and postgraduate students with his compassion, enthusiasm for news and lively teaching.
