In just over a months time, Americans will go to the polls and elect their 44th President. Current polling has shown Obama pulling away after a short period of deadlock, with the dire state of the economy seeming to work in his favour.
During Welcome Week, we sent our first year students out with Canon HV30 video cameras and radio microphones to interview each other as an ice-breaking exercise. Today, they used that footage as a demonstration of how to digitise footage from the camera, make a simple cut in Premiere Elements, compress the output file and upload the resulting clip of a minute or soÂ to the centreforjournalism site.
We briefly discussed the ideas of Nassim Nicholas Taleb today in conference, and I started to wonder: who among the world leaders, both present and future, is in the best position to navigate these murky economic seas and get us all out in one piece?
