We'll be holding a revision session for Year 1 students for convergent journalism 1 on Monday afternoon. 2.30pm in the main newsroom.
With apologies to all those who had volunteered to road-test the NCTJ Essential Journalism exam tomorrow, the session has just been cancelled by the NCTJ. Sorry for the inconvenience.
I'll keep you posted if is to be re-convened.
The good news for our students keeps on coming. Third years Jackie Gordon and Ali Iveson will join the KM Group next month as trainee reporters, continuing the tradition of CfJ students landing great jobs before they've even graduated.
Jackie will be working in the Gravesend and Medway offices, while Ali will be based in Maidstone. We look forward to seeing their bylines regularly in print and online.
Congratulations both of you.
Two of our undergraduate students have won scholarships to a prestigious summer course in Prague. Third year Sheryll Goddard and second year Boglarka Kosztolanyi will travel to the Czech Republic capital in August to take part in Journey, a programme run by the Bakala Foundation in which promising students are given the chance to work with and learn from top media professionals.
Thanks to all those who volunteered to road-test the NCTJ's new Essential Journalism exam. I'm afraid I ended up with too many names, so have used the time-honoured 'sorting hat' technique (i.e pulling names out of a coffee cup) to reduce the number of volunteers to the 15 that the NCTJ wanted.
The 15 names are below - apologies if you volunteered but are not on the list.
