Yesterday I was walking down Monmouth high street (somewhat different from Chatham, I should add), when I saw a towel on the pavement. Pretty well folded still, it had obviously fallen straight out of something or other, a pushchair was my first thought. I noticed further downhill two people pushing wheelchairs - maybe it's theirs, I concluded.
Paul Mason (Newsnight's economics editor) blogs that the VIX index - a "global Geiger-counter of financial risk" - is running higher than when Lehman Bros collapsed during the financial crisis, as a result of the recent Eurozone problems. Eek.
