The Student Publication Association's National Awards close in just FIVE DAYS.

There are 16 catergories ranging from best comment to best news story, jugded by industry professionals - and they are , of course, free to enter.

They'll be awarded at a glittering ceremony in April and I'd love to see some Kent entries!

Previously CfJ students have done pretty well in the awards:

  • In 2014 Jem Collins (BA 2014 - that's me!) scooped Outstanding Commitment and highly commended as Best Reporter. I now work as a video journalist at politics.co.uk.
  • In 2015 Jayna Rana (MA 2015) was awarded highly commended for Best FOI story and got on a grad scheme with Incisive Media - she's now a correspondent at Investment week.
  • Also in 2015 Nat Tipping (Current MA) was highly commended for outstanding commitment.

So the TL;DR of this is you should put your entries in now by heading to www.spajournalism.com/awards16
