I will never get back the hour I spent on Saturday night watching  Jimmy's Hall, the latest film by legendary director Ken Loach. This particular punter walked before the end of the moving and inspiring portrait of Irish communist and activist Jimmy Gralton and his battles with the church -- represented by Bishop "Kicking him up the arse" Brennan from Father Ted. One expects to make an occasional bad film choice. But it's hard not to blame the Guardian for publishing an online "review" of this pedantic bit of socialist realism that it turns out was paid for by the film's production company.
