Journalist Mary Harper was enduring an endless struggle trying to contact pirates off the Eastern coast of Africa, therefore the last thing she expected was for them to answer to her twelve year old daughter. Hostages are being held on board the Sirius Star in the Indian Ocean, by a group of Somali pirates. This piece reports how Harpers daughter helped her to eventally get through to the captain and reveals that the crew are being treated fairly.
