A few weeks ago a number of newspapers exposed the ultimate slap in the face for taxpayers when it was revealed a family from Afghanistan were living rent free in a house worth an incredible £1.2million. Finally, as this article describes, the government have ordered a crackdown on housing allowances on families being given houses that they wouldn't ordinarily be able to afford. This story seems well timed as just yesterday The Sun published a small piece explaining how the last survivor of the Titanic was forced to sell rare and important documents relating the disaster to pay her nursing home fee's and was threatened with eviction. This article goes a small way to providing justice for people struggling to make ends meet while others are living off ridiculous and extravagant handouts from the government.
