In addition to all the revision classes, we have several guest speakers who are visiting over the next few weeks. In particular may I draw your attention to Michael Crick the Newsnight political editor who will be speaking on Thursday 14th May and Sir Robert Worcestor who is coming on 18th May. If you are not a regular Newsnight viewer may I suggest that you go on the Newsnight website and have a look at Michael’s recent work – for example his reports on the MP expenses story – and read his blog. You could even look out some of his books – especially the ground breaking biography of Jeffrey Archer.
Sir Robert Worcestor is not only the Chancellor of the University of Kent (he will present your degrees one day) but also a key figure in the development of political polling. He will talk to you about political opinion and the interaction between politics and media coverage. He recently gave an entertaining interview on Fi Glover’s Saturday morning show bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00jq0kp.
