He’s been threatening to take top spot since Matchday 1 and finally he has done it. Ian Reeves leads the Centre for Journalism’s Euro 2012 fantasy league after Matchday 3.
Once again Andrea Pirlo, who Ian made captain, was his top point’s scorer with 12 whilst his defensive choices of Iker Casillas, Theodor Gebre Selassi and Martin Olsson bagged 20 points between them.
Eight points behind Ian is Jay Akbar (last Matchday’s leader) who will be regretting the performances of Robin Van Persie, Cesc Fabregas and Alexander Kerzhakov who scored just three points between them.
Taking third place after another storming round is Matt Charles. A Petr Jiracek goal and Gigi Buffon’s clean sheet made the difference for the Charlton fan.
An honourable mention must be given to Dan Sampayo, who, after a stuttering start, claimed the highest point’s total of Matchday 3 with 67 and now sits 9th.
And leading the race for the Wooden Spoon is Bill Topping who assures me that he is cursed after having both Wayne Rooney and Sebastian Larsson in his team before axing them. Oh well, at least you don’t support Aston Villa…
