Shortlisiting Debate for the Orwell Prizes

Anyone fancy a look round the amazing Reuters building at Canary Wharf combined with some vigorous political argument and free drinks? If so you are invited to the Orwell Prize shortlisting event on Wednesday 25th March.

See email below for details but note that you need (for security reasons) to RSVP if you want to attend. The prizes this year are for journalism, books and blogging – have a look at who is on the longlist. The debate on the evening includes Nick Cohen and David Davies amongst others so should be lively.

Dear Suzanne,

We would very much like to invite you to the Orwell Prize Reuters Shortlist Debate, on 25th March, entitled ‘Are political parties bankrupt? The economic emergency and the next election’. Nick Cohen and Frank Field MP are so far confirmed as speakers, and we will of course be announcing this year’s shortlists at the debate. Please find a full invitation attached.

Please feel free to pass the invitation on, especially to your students – though RSVPs to this email address are essential.

If you’re unable to make it, you can follow the debate on Twitter (http://twitter.com/TheOrwellPrize). It would also be wonderful to see you at one of our many events at the Oxford Literary Festival (http://theorwellprize.co.uk/the-award/events-diary.aspx?event=1560).

Very best wishes
Gavin
