Chatham residents are protesting against plans to build 50 flats next to Darland Banks nature reserve.

Kent Wildlife Trust says the planning application does not adequately protect the species in Darland Banks.

Anne Richmond, who is leading the local campaign, said: “There are so many limitations to the site. There is a lot of pipework underneath. The traffic that goes onto the A2 is going to be expanded by more than a hundred cars, so there will be a complete traffic blockage.”
