I’m grateful to Jaak for pointing me in the direction of this talk about data visualisation by journalist David McCandless. It’ll be of particular interest to those doing the advance multimedia storytelling module – we looked at Hans Rosling’s work on the same subject this week –  but I recommend it to anyone with 20 minutes to spare and an interest in how powerful this form of storytelling can be. Look out for McCandless’s visualisation based on a particular set of Facebook updates.
