Dover Mercury splash

Although without the same modesty as Kelsey Williams and Alex Fisk last week who recorded significant breakthroughs with a brilliant front page splash and video report respectively, I thought I’d post because we’ve all been encouraged to post our successes.

I’ve got a front page this week on the Dover Mercury (I’m working in Deal, which covers both the Deal East Kent Mercury and Dover Mercury editions) about Lee Browning, a Dover Athletic footballer who swallowed his tongue after being smashed in the face with the ball last Saturday. He was unconscious for 45 seconds before Dover physiotherapist Andy Hyland and Tonbridge Angels physiotherapist Mervin Slight (Dover were away at Tonbridge and won 2-0) assisted him by supporting his neck and spine.

Mr Browning was later released from hospital after treatment and has now fully recovered.

If/when possible I will post the front page on the site of my article (although being a techno-idiot rather than techno-phobe I’m not sure how). Otherwise, I will bring in a copy to the CFJ very soon.

Here is the video of the incident on KentOnline, which isn’t my article.

Anyway, good luck to everyone else with their work placements :D.
