I read an article in the Sun today which stated that once again David Miliband will leave the Labour 2012 Conference in Manchester before his brother and leader of the Labour Party Ed gives his main and final speech. As it turns out David hasn’t attended any one of his brother’s speeches since his acceptence speech, during which he shook his head when Ed remarked that the Iraq war was “wrong”.
This could suggest that there are some divisions in the Labour party – not just between Ed and David but between the supporters of each brother. It would be interesting to find out whether anyone else has skipped Ed’s speeches along with David or if they toe the party line.
In addition, commentators have now suggested that David is no longer an option for being a member of the Shadow Cabinet.
On the other hand, David could simply be bitter about his brother beating him in the 2008 Labour leadership contest rather than having any disagreement in his policies.
