Coursework for Broadcast Journalism module

Coursework for Broadcast Journalism module

When your NCTJ Radio or TV coursework is ready, please send me the radio coursework and Laura the equivalent TV coursework.

The deadline is 10 May, so you have the whole of the Easter break to do this. There’s an entry to this effect on the CFJ site’s diary for that day.

It’s not onerous. You’ll know the criteria for the coursework is EXACTLY THE SAME as that of the work you’ve submitted in Year 2 TV and radio or on the MA course.

So just submit the work you’ve already done, but recut and if necessary revoice it.

If you really want to have more practice or don’t like the assignment you turned in, do a completely new piece according to the same criteria and submit that.

I would really advise taking on board the feedback from your Kent mark sheet (which I am happy to supply by email, if you’ve lost it and Laura will also have her equivalent ones as well).

There are two reasons for this:

1.You’re bound to get higher marks.
2.You’ll further develop the skills your future employers value.

The forms you need are attached.

Please send me or Laura the signed, scanned coursework assignment forms and the coursework.

If you export your TV piece from FCPX using File/Share/Master file/Apple Devices (lowest resolution) that will be best. Don’t forget to check Do Nothing in settings on the final field of the FCP export dialog box so the file doesn’t go into iTunes.

Sign and date the forms and put your NCTJ URN number on them.

Send also the mp3s and low res video files of your radio and TV pieces, and a script each for the radio story and the TV story, correctly laid out and with a cue at the top, please by 0930 on 10 May.

Please put everything into a folder with your name on.

If the folder is small enough, email it.

If not, send via Dropbox or something similar.

Finally, if there are any questions, do ask. For example Rob, Ian, Laura or myself can explain if you need to that you can’t submit these for your NCTJ portfolio . . . just ask.

Richard
